Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart of EAA Chapter 14 and the Young Eagles program. Whether you can help for a few hours during an event or take on a regular role, your time and skills make a difference in inspiring the next generation of aviators.

  • Aircraft Marshaler โ€” Direct arriving and departing aircraft on the ramp to ensure safe and efficient operations. Training provided; safety vest required.
  • Safety Escort โ€” Guide youth and families safely between aircraft, hangars, and registration areas. Ensures ramp awareness and maintains safe distances.
  • Admin Staff โ€” Support registration, sign-in, and record keeping for Young Eagles flights. Great for detail-oriented volunteers and friendly communicators.
  • Lunch Cook / Food Service โ€” Help prepare and serve lunch for pilots, youth, and volunteers. No aviation experience required, just enthusiasm and a smile.
  • EAA Ambassador โ€” Represent EAA Chapter 14 by welcoming visitors, answering questions, and sharing what EAA and Young Eagles are about.
  • Youth Protection / Guardian Support โ€” Ensure all volunteers meet EAA Youth Protection standards and assist with safety check-ins for new participants.
  • โ€œAsk a Pilotโ€ Booth โ€” Engage visitors with aviation stories, answer flight training questions, and inspire future aviators. Perfect for pilots or CFIs.
  • Pilot / CFI / CFII โ€” Fly Young Eagles and mentor interested youth in aviation. Valid pilot certificate, current medical, and EAA Young Eagles registration required.
  • STEM Activity Staff โ€” Lead or assist with science and engineering activities such as flight simulators, model rockets, or simple experiments.

  • Chapter Cleanup Crew โ€” Help keep our hangars, classrooms, and outdoor areas clean and safe. Flexible scheduling available.
  • Breakfast Cook Team โ€” Prepare breakfast for Saturday chapter meetings or flight days. Early birds welcome!
  • Donation Coordinator โ€” Assist with outreach to local businesses and donors for food, supplies, or youth materials.
  • Social Media Manager โ€” Share stories, photos, and event updates on chapter social platforms to grow our reach.
  • Handyman / Repair Crew โ€” Help with light maintenance and improvements around the hangar or outdoor facilities. Painting, electrical, and carpentry help welcome.
  • Photographer / Videographer โ€” Capture event highlights and candid moments to help promote our chapter and the Young Eagles program.
  • Data & Records Assistant โ€” Maintain digital or paper records of flight logs, volunteer rosters, and youth participation. Perfect for organized volunteers.
  • Event Planner / Scheduler โ€” Help coordinate calendars, volunteer assignments, and logistics for upcoming YE events or classes.
  • Outreach Coordinator โ€” Visit schools, community centers, and youth organizations to promote Young Eagles opportunities.
  • STEM Lab Prep / Materials Assistant โ€” Organize, clean, and restock supplies for youth education days and aviation classes.

  • Membership Coordinator โ€” Manage member records and help welcome new chapter participants.
  • Web & IT Support โ€” Assist with maintaining the chapter website, email lists, and event signup forms.
  • Newsletter Editor โ€” Compile monthly updates, photos, and stories for chapter members and partners.
  • Mentor / Youth Advisor โ€” Provide guidance for students interested in aviation careers, flight training, or STEM paths.
  • Fundraising Committee โ€” Help plan small fundraisers or community outreach events to support our chapter mission.
  • Public Relations / Media Liaison โ€” Coordinate with local news outlets and community organizations to highlight YE14 activities.
